Ray Silvius is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Winnipeg in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He is the lead of the Migration in Remote and Rural Areas Network (MIRRA Network) and the Community Engaged Research on Immigration Network (CERI Network). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Silvius is trained in International Relations and Global Political Economy and has two decades worth of experience in community-engaged migration research.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His research interests include applied and community-engaged research on migration; newcomers’ access to social, political, and economic resources; the concept of Welcoming Communities and associated practices; the Political Economy of refugees, home, and migration; and macro-structures within the global political economy.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
